Downtown Holiday Decorations

Celebrate the Magic of the Season with Downtown Walnut Creek's Winter Wonderland Holiday Decorations

(Walnut Creek, CA.) The City of Walnut Creek and the Walnut Creek
Downtown Association are delighted to announce a brand-new holiday decorations program,
illuminating the heart of the city with a winter wonderland theme that will enchant residents and
visitors alike. The festivities will commence on November 15 and continue through January 15,
bringing the holiday spirit to the downtown core.

This year, the downtown holiday decorations will transport you to a world of wonder with
lamppost decor, thousands of twinkling lights, and a series of surprise projected light locations.
The winter wonderland theme promises to turn Walnut Creek into a truly magical destination for
all to enjoy. The twinkling lights and captivating projections will infuse the city with the warmth
and joy of the holiday season, providing a captivating backdrop for shopping, dining, and
creating cherished memories.

"Our downtown has long been the heart of the city, and Walnut Creek is pleased to partner with
the Walnut Creek Downtown Association to creative a festive holiday atmosphere that will
encourage locals and visitors to explore all that downtown has to offer this season," said Mayor
Cindy Silva. "I'm certain that Walnut Creek will be a beacon of holiday cheer and goodwill."

This year’s program is made possible by the support of Measure O, the City’s voter-approved
half-cent sales tax increase. Measure O was approved on November 8, 2022, by 65% of
Walnut Creek voters and will remain in effect for ten years. The contribution towards this
program recognizes the importance of a vibrant downtown in fostering a sense of community
and well-being. In the spirit of continuous improvement, Walnut Creek plans to enhance the
program over the next few years using the budget. Future plans include expanded features and
attractions that will make the downtown holiday experience even more remarkable, creating
memories that will last a lifetime.

Immerse yourself in the holiday spirit that our charming city has to offer with two special
ceremonies.
Thursday, November 30 – Broadway Plaza Parade of Lights & Tree Lighting from 5:30-8:30 pm
Saturday, December 2 – Civic Park Holiday Tree Lighting at 5:30 pm.

With the support of the Measure O campaign, our vibrant downtown business community, and
the dedication of the city, this year's holiday decorations promise to be more spectacular than
ever before.
