The Ultimate Summer Block Party Returns to Walnut Creek July 8

First event utilizing Walnut Creek’s New Entertainment Zone

(WALNUT CREEK, Calif. 6.22.26) — Turn the music up and hit the streets because downtown Walnut Creek is ready for a summer party! The Walnut Creek Downtown Association's beloved Locust Street Festival returns for two evenings this summer: July 8 and August 5—the first event to utilize the city’s newly established Entertainment Zone.

The free community festival will transform Locust Street into a
vibrant open-air block party filled with live music, delicious food, artisan vendors, and family-friendly fun. The Entertainment Zone will shift festival beverage sales to participating downtown restaurants and bars, allowing attendees 21 and older to purchase beverages directly from local businesses and enjoy them within the designated festival area, creating an even more connected downtown experience.

"Locust Street Festival has always been about bringing the community together and celebrating everything that makes downtown special," said Walnut Creek Downtown Association Executive Director Kathy Hemmenway. "The new Entertainment Zone adds an exciting new amenity that supports local businesses, activates public spaces, and enhances our vibrant downtown." Guests can explore dozens of local businesses and vendors, enjoy live entertainment, and shop unique finds while enjoying a summer evening. Family and dog-friendly, it’s the perfect midweek summer outing.

When: Wednesday, July 8 | 5–8:30 p.m. & Wednesday, August 5 | 5–8:30 p.m.

Location: Locust Street (between Mt. Diablo Blvd and Bonanza St., and Bonanza St. to Civic Drive) and Cypress Street (between N. California Blvd. and Commercial Lane).
