The Walnut Creek Police Department will be hosting its annual city-wide National Night Out event on Tuesday, August 5th, 2025, at Broadway Plaza from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. Like years past, we are collaborating with Walnut Creek Arts and Rec for activities and Movie Under the Stars at Civic Park for a free screening of a movie directly after National Night Out! So, mark your calendars and come join us for two times the fun on 8/5/25!
National Night Out (NNO) is an annual community-building event that promotes partnerships between law enforcement agencies and the community they serve. Millions of neighbors take part in National Night Out nationwide on the first Tuesday in August (with certain areas celebrating on the first Tuesday in October). Many neighborhoods host community events including but not limited to block parties, festivals, or cookouts where first responders visit and participate. National Night Out creates a positive environment for local police and neighbors to interact and create positive relationships.
NNO allows us to:
- Come together as a community
- Meet and mingle with local law enforcement and fellow neighbors
- Strengthen partnerships that keep our neighborhood a safe and inviting place to live
NNO Block Parties:
Although we will be having our central location event at Broadway Plaza, neighborhoods are encouraged to host their own National Night Out festivities, such as a block party. If you’re hosting an event in your neighborhood and would like members of our police department to participate, please contact us to register and we would love to send an officer to stop by. We will only be visiting these parties between the designated NNO hours of 3pm-6pm. Please note that a visit is not guaranteed and will depend on our available resources. Thank you for understanding!
