 Teachers Corner:
Liz Mac

San Francisco Bay Area Veteran Nia Instructor since 2003, Liz Mac is known for being
a playful vivacious joyful contagious facilitator. Liz has a true gift for helping people to
heal and find the joy in movement. Liz shares her love and knowledge of dance and
movement through her own mix of music and Nia. Nia is conscious dance practice that
combines modern, yoga and martial movements to mindfully relate to your self
healing body while dancing through life. This practice is shared throughout the world
and now Liz will share her unique brand of Nia with you.

 What is Nia?

Nia is a cardiovascular workout that stimulates and integrates your mind, body,
and spirit and leaves you feeling recharged, rejuvenated, and fully alive. Nia brings
together the precision and energy of the martial arts, the creative expression of
the dance arts, and the body awareness of the healing arts (including yoga). Nia is
done barefoot to a wide variety of music styles and sounds. Nia is designed with The
Body's Way in mind and can be modified to accommodate a wide variety of ages, abilities,
and fitness levels. Throughout class, modifications are shown to help you tailor the
moves to your own specific needs and desired outcome. Not only is Nia a fun, expressive
way to get fit, it provides body knowledge that can help one benefit out of class,
such as balance, flexibility, and increased awareness and vitality.
